Ship Radio Station Licences are issued by the International Registrar of Shipping & Seamen.

They are issued for 6 months with the provisional documentation issued when a provisional registration is accepted.

There is no separate application form to obtain a Ship Radio Station Licence. However, a survey report signed by an authorised surveyor, listing the equipment onboard the vessel, must be submitted to issue an Annual Ship Radio Station Licence.

They are then renewable annually on payment of a fee.

Radio Traffic Accounting Authorities (AAIC) and Point Service Activators (PSA)

Currently, any organisation authorised by ITU and Inmarsat respectively are allowed to be used by owners for radio traffic accounting and Inmarsat activation.
